Afritrex - Project News

What I consider to be the biggest challenge and test of this fundraising expedition, is almost upon me. The 85km Comrades Ultra Marathon from Durban to Pietermaritzburg.

I am worried, I am scared but I am also mentally confident that I can make it.

Its the least prepared I have been for any race I have ever taken on in my life and have not been able to physically prepare as I hoped I could for the last 6 weeks due to the conditions placed on me by not having another driver for my vehicle during the trip down the coast, time in which I was hoping to maximise my running stamina and build up to the huge task ahead.

Instead its been a driving race down the west coast just to get here in time and now as I reside in Port Edward for the final few days all I can do is go for a light run each day to keep the joints moving.

This time next week I'll be sore but who knows whether I'll be feeling ecstatic or down in the dumps....

The test is on, Afritrex depends on this Sunday.
